A native shrub or tree that is tough and durable in adverse situations with showy spring flowers and edible fruit.

Interesting Notes about Chickasaw Plum:

This native, wild plum is a fairly fast grower at about 2' per year and will grow is just about any well-drained soil. It does not like areas that stay wet, but can be used for naturalizing and wildlife areas even in drought conditions. Suckering (spreading) can be a problem as it grows naturally into thickets.
