Interesting Notes about Cockspur Hawthorn:

A great naturalizing tree that has some very impressive thorns so it's best to plant away from main traffic areas and perhaps place it close to evergreens to show off the flowers, fruit and foliage. The flowers have a malodorous scent that attracts bees, flies and butterflies. The fruit is edible by humans and readily eaten by birds and squirrels.
