Beautiful saucer-shaped flowers in the spring.

Interesting Notes about Saucer Magnolia:

Buds of the tree develop in early spring and if a hard freeze occurs the buds do not develop into flowers.  Avoid planting in southern exposure near a building which might induce early bud development.  Plant in a protected site that has soil rich in organic matter.
