This compact shrub produces golden leaves in the spring, later changing to chartreuse and then in fall are shaded with red. The flowers flush in early summer and sometimes will rebloom in early fall.

Interesting Notes about Spirea:

Spirea is a compact, mounded shrub with thin, twiggy stems, small leaves and numerous flower clusters. It flowers on new wood and can actually be cut to the ground if it gets too wild looking. Outward reaching stems may sometimes reach the ground which will root and regrow a new offshoot. This shrub may also produce seedlings that may or may not look like the parent plant. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil.
