Interesting Notes about Bur Oak:

Bur Oak is named appropriately because the acorn has fringe on the cup that resembles a burr.  This acorn is also the largest of all acorns and surprisely the tree does not bear acorns for at least 20 years and sometimes much longer.  This is an easy-to-grow tree perfect for a very large yard.
