Sometimes known as the "pink 'Annabelle'" the flowers begin their show dark pink, later changing to bright pink.

Interesting Notes about Smooth Hydrangea:

This shrub grows naturally in areas in moist, partially shaded woodland slopes or ravines. It will tolerate full sun as long as kept moist, but if too dry for too long the foliage will decline. The shrub is fast-growing and will send out new shoots (suckers) freely if given the opportunity.
