This fast growing tree is becoming popular for its fall color and its easy cleanup in the fall because the leaves drop very late in the season.

Interesting Notes about Nuttall Oak:

This is an easy to grow tree that grows naturally in wet soils with no real preference for acidic or alkaline pH.  The acorns provide food for wildlife and are poisonous to humans if eaten before toxins are leached out by boiling.  The leaves are very late to drop and sometimes as late as December.
