This tree must love it dry because even in long periods of drought the tree holds on to the leaves.

Interesting Notes about Hardy Rubber Tree:

The tree is named for the stringy sap that can be seen when a leaf is torn, a twig is broken or when the bark is peeled.  The removal of the sap is too costly for commercial use.  No pest problems due to latex production in the leaves. Tolerates a variety of soil conditions.
