Interesting Notes about Scarlet Firethorn:

Scarlet Firethorn is a large shrub that produces beautiful white flowers in the spring that are followed by the bright orange to near-red berries.  These berries are the main season of interest for the admirer and birds. What remains if left to grow naturally is this tall, arching and somewhat untidy looking form that is best trained on a trellis or espalier. Due to the thorns it is best to position the shrub away from main traffic areas.
