Interesting Notes about Amur Maackia:

A tree with very hard wood and disease and insect free.  It is not native, but is growing in popularity due to its exfoliating bark and its flowers that stand upright in clusters.  The tree can tolerate flooding and then drought, but not for long periods in either case as long as soil is well-drained.
