Cornus kousa
Kousa Dogwood
This popular tree is grown for its flowers as a sure sign that spring is here, plus the vibrant fall foliage and fruit help to extend the season well into winter.
- Showy white flower bracts
 - Horizontal branching
 - Pink to red fruit persists into winter

Height: 15-30 ft
Spread: 15-30 ft
Zone: 5-8
Interesting Notes about Kousa Dogwood:
The blooms are made up of petal-like bracts that surround the greenish-yellow clusters which are the actual flowers. The bracts are the showy part of the bloom period and will last at least 2-3 weeks in the spring. Glossy pink-red berries will follow, and these attract both birds and other wildlife. Attractive, exfoliating bark on older trees in winter.
