Interesting Notes about Texas Redbud:

A native to Oklahoma and Texas this variety is a multi-stemmed tree with showy flowers and glossy, thick leaves.  It is drought tolerant, but prefers a moist, fertile soil found most commonly at the wood's edge.  Hardiness is an issue which is why it should be planted in a protected area of the landscape.
