Interesting Notes about Bald Cypress:

Bald Cypress is a cone-bearing deciduous tree that grows naturally in swamps, but grows quite well in drier soils.  It is unique for its knobby 'knees' that grow above the water line which is a means to get oxygen to the roots or because it is a poorly drained area.  Foliage is needle-like that turns a cinnamon color in the fall and has exfoliating bark.
