A rare find, this tree is gaining popularity for its ability to tolerate pollutants and hot, dry conditions.

Interesting Notes about Turkish Filbert:

This tree is widely used in Germany as a street tree and is currently becoming popular in the U.S. for the same purpose.  Negative impact might actually be the nuts produced because it could interfere with sidewalk traffic, but the actual crop of nuts is sporadic per tree and depends on multiple trees for cross-pollination.
